Your donation provides cash assistance to the most vulnerable displaced families.
11 years of crisis in Syria has forced millions to endure hardship and uncertainty. Today, thousands of displaced Syrian families remain far from their homes and communities. During the past two years, many of them have fallen into deeper poverty and in need of our support to overcome these dire circumstances.
Today, while the world stands again before the destruction and tragedy that wars and conflicts bring to people’s lives, and as we witness new waves of mass displacement, with hundreds of thousands of families fleeing their homes to seek safety, we also remember the millions of Syrians who haven been living this bitter reality for the past years, and we continue to stand with them as they face compounding challenges and struggles.
UNHCR’s vulnerability assessments shows an increase in poverty levels between refugee families. In Lebanon, over 90% of refugee families now live in extreme poverty, while in Jordan, this figure has increased to 81%. Food insecurity is also affecting thousands of families, with many reporting having to skip meals.
- 14.6 million Syrians are in need for protection and humanitarian assistance.
- 12 million people are severely food insecure.
- 5.6 are refugees in neighboring countries.
- More than 2 million displaced people live in planned and informal camps.
Your donation today can help a family in need with cash assistance they can use to secure shelter, food, water and medicine for their children.
